Virginia Studies preview

1607 through the American Revolution

VS.3 The student will apply history and social science skills to explain the causes and effects of events associated with the first permanent English settlement in North America by

     a.) explaining the reasons for English colonization;

     b.) describing the economic and geographic influences on the decision to settle at Jamestown;

     c.) describing the importance of the Virginia Company of London Charter (April 10, 1606) in establishing the Jamestown colony;

     d.) describing the interactions between the English colonists and the Indigenous Peoples, including the role of the Powhatan in the survival of the colonists;

  3. Simple Input Process: To make a request, educators need to input the following details:

    • Teacher Code or School Code
    • Teacher Name
    • School Name
    • Subject & Standard Number
    • Topic
    • Detailed outline of the points to be included in the material

  4. Subscription Grade Level: It is essential to note that all teacher requests must align with their subscription grade level(s). This ensures that the customized material remains relevant to the students’ educational needs.
